An important use of Outlook is to remind you when you have appointments that you need to make. The reminders feature of tasks and appointments is ideal for this, except for one thing. It used to be that reminders would pop up on top of whatever you were doing. That was annoying, but it made sure you saw your reminders.
Now, instead of the reminder window popping up over the top of everything, a reminder simply flashes the Outlook icon and makes a sound. It is pretty easy to miss that kind of reminder.
My friends at SageLamp Solutions have come up with a fix for this. They’ve created an add-in that causes reminders to pop up over the top of everything. You can’t miss it. I’ve been using this add-in for a while now, both on Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013, and it has worked flawlessly. In other words, I once again get those annoying reminders that pop up over everything and make sure that I don’t miss any scheduled activities.
I haven’t tried the add-in with every applicable version of Outlook and Windows. I have been using it with the 64-bit version of Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 and the 32-bit version of Outlook 2013 on Windows 8. That leaves me confident that ShowReminders will work for the other possible combinations, but you’ll have to try it for yourself to be sure. Happily, SageLamp Solutions offers a free 14-day trial so you can check it out with no-risk. And in case you were wondering, I am not an affiliate and don’t get paid if you buy a copy. I’m simply telling you about a useful little Outlook add-in I think you’ll like.
