Using the Outlook 2010 Jump List
One of the new features in Windows 7 is Jump Lists. Jump Lists are menus of popular commands for a particular application which appear when you right-click the application’s icon on the Windows 7 Taskbar. Outlook 2010 is one of the applications that benefits from this new feature.
As you can see in the figure below, the Outlook 2010 Jump List lets you create new Outlook items extremely quickly.
What’s particularly nice about using the jump list is that only the new item window appears when you select one of these options. The main Outlook window stays minimized. This is a great convenience when you are in the middle of some other task and need to create a quick appointment or message without losing track of what you are currently working on.
