How to Create a New Message With Attachments the Fast Way
Creating a new message with multiple attachments can be a pain. You open the new message window, then either go to the Insert tab and use the dialog box to select your files, or drag them over to the new message window one by one. Either way is slow and clumsy.
There is a better way. You can combine all these steps to create a new message with attachments extremely fast. Here’s what you need to do:
- Open Outlook 2010 to Mail view but resize the window so you can see some of the desktop.
- Select all the files you want to attach to the message. You can use Windows Explorer, locate them on the desktop, whatever you want, so long as you select them all. Remember to press down the CTRL key on the keyboard to select a new file without deselecting the ones you have already selected.
- Without deselecting the rest of them, drag one of the selected files to the Outlook 2010 Mail Pane. It must be the Mail Pane and not the Navigation Pane or the Reading Pane.
- Drop the file in the Mail Pane. Outlook opens a new message with attachments already included. The new message window that appears is ready for you to complete and send.
That’s all it takes! From here you can:
